Here at the Event office, the anticipation for this summer’s World Cup is building and one questions is on everyone’s mind, can England rise to the occasion or are they destined to crumble under the pressure?!

Event Insurance Broker World Cup

To get in the spirit this summer’s competition, we decided to run our very own Event Insurance Broker World Cup.

Lee Swindle, our key broker liaison, took the centre stage, getting in front of the cameras and acted as our draw assistant to carry out the our very first World Cup Broker Draw. We randomly selected 32 lucky brokers who were each drawn one of the 32 national teams going for glory in this year’s competition.

You can watch the results video of the draw here

The broker that is lucky enough to have been drawn the team that makes to the final and lift the iconic cup will receive a donation to sponsor a local grassroots football team in their area.

Grassroots football was set-up for non-professional and non-elite players to play the game they love. Contributing to the development of local communities, Grassroots football aims to instil the core values of teamwork, social development, health, fitness and personal fulfilment to those involved. It contributes to the educational, social and sporting development of players, providing exciting opportunities to those who want to be involved in football.

The presence of Grassroots Football means that football is available to, and can be played by, anyone at a level where participation and a love of the game are the driving forces that brings people together. This includes children's football, schools and youth football, amateur football, football for disabled players, football for veterans and walking football, as well as many other groups who want to get involved with the beautiful game.

To find out more about Grassroots Football, you can visit their website here.

We would like to wish the brokers involved the best of luck and we look forward to seeing whos team will make it all the way.
