It’s your special day, the day you’ve been planning for months. You’re all dressed, make up done, bridesmaids shedding tears over how beautiful you look, you’re ready to walk down the aisle and say ‘I do’ in your dream venue.
But what happens when your wedding day doesn’t go quite to plan? Say for instance the venue is damaged at some point during your celebrations?
On 27th September 2014, another happy couple tied the knot at Pentillie Castle in Cornwall.
Unfortunately, during the preparations, one of the bridal party accidently split nail varnish on a cream carpet.
Luckily for this happy couple they had a wedding insurance policy which specifically covered damage caused to the venue by a guest of the bride or groom. The policy responded to the claim for the replacement of the carpet when attempts to clean up the spillage failed.
Naturally, given the status of such a prestigious wedding venue, the damage had to be sorted before the next wedding was due to take place; a clear demonstration of how quickly insurers have to respond to certain and specific situations to avoid unnecessary difficulties between the couple and the venue and most importantly, the memory of this momentous occasion.
In this case, it was a happily ever after. At EIS we don’t underestimate the devastating effect it can have on your wedding when things go wrong.
