Q1: We do not employ anybody to help run our event, but we have residents acting as volunteers. Do we still need Employers Liability?
A: It doesn't matter whether a helper is paid or is a volunteer, Employers Liability is a good idea to have as it offers protection to you as the event organiser. You still have a responsibility towards the people you use to help you.
