Wedding Ring Insurance that Goes Everywhere With You
As with other sub sections; wedding rings are more often than not covered under other insurance policies which are carried by one of the wedding party or a third party supplier. For example, it is likely to be covered by the keeper’s home insurance or by the ring suppliers insurance whilst it is with them being stored or altered.
What is Covered Under Wedding Ring Insurance?
Therefore what is covered? We cover accidental loss or damage to the wedding rings seven days before, or during the wedding ceremony.
For any accidental loss or damage claim, the claimant must be able to know how, when and why the incident occurred, so not being able to find the rings, for example, is not something which is covered.
As with the majority of wedding property policies there is no excess and we cover up to £3,000 as standard with the possibility of increasing this if required.
Successful Claim
An example of a successful claim came from Mr Evans whose best man, in the spring of 2014, accidentally dropped the rings down a drain whilst getting out of the car in front of the groom and other attendants on the day of the ceremony. Whilst having the insurance in place wasn’t able to assist with the Best Man’s sense of embarrassment or Mr Evan’s bride-to-be’s worry; it was able to cover the cost of the rings in getting them replaced.
