Imagine the scene, its Christmas day, the atmosphere is a hive of festive activity; children are diving into their stockings, loved ones are embracing each other while the kitchen is a place of chaos & order all in the space of one room.

There are crackers being pulled, cheap plastic gifts flying everywhere, paper crowns are being placed on heads and rubbish jokes are being told.

Suddenly, you look over to where your loved one once was stood and they have now taken to the floor, down on one knee with a ring held out in front of them that isn’t plastic from a cracker.

‘Will you marry me?’

All those surprise Christmas proposals have ‘brides and grooms to be’ clearing magazine shelves as they start planning their big days. As we step into 2015, throughout January & February a hive of wedding fairs start popping up in venues all over the UK.

As the wedding day scrap book gets pulled out of the cupboard, plans & ideas race through the minds of those anticipating their perfect big day.

But what happens when something goes wrong?

As an insurance company we see firsthand the devastating effects when something doesn’t quite go to plan on your wedding day, it’s one of the most important day of our lives so adequate cover must be placed.

It’s definitely not the most exciting part of your wedding planning, but most would argue essential.

In the case of venues, they may not allow a booking without evidence that the bride and groom to be are insured should damage be caused to their venue.

From an insurance perspective we understand that every wedding is different. By offering a civil partnership policy and more recently, launching our same sex wedding policy, as well as being able to tailor the policy to suit a variety of religious or faith needs, we are able to step outside of the traditional box and offer a range of policies which don’t discriminate against couples.

By basing our policies on a cancellation figure, this allows for the premium to be rated accordingly, matching the amount which is spent on the entire wedding, bar the honeymoon. With cover from as little as £51, this package is enough to rest even the most nervous of minds.

If there is a glitch in the process of getting hitched, we’re here to offer a security blanket in the form of a comprehensive insurance policy.

Merry Christmas!  May yours be filled with love and surprises!
