Daniel Hudson and Jenna Booth had been planning their wedding day since 2008 and their hearts were set on tying the knot in the stunning setting of Caverswall Castle in Staffordshire on Friday 25th March.

This 13th century castle set in 35 acres ticked all the boxes for the happy couple, so they went ahead and booked the venue and invited a total of 160 guests to their wedding.

Dream Venue . . .

However their ‘dream’ venue turned into a nightmare as just two weeks before their wedding day, Daniel and Jenna were contacted by their registrar who told them that Caverswall Castle had gone into liquidation.

“We were absolutely devastated especially as our wedding was only weeks away,” said Daniel. “The first thing I did was to call Event Insurance Services and explain the situation. This was on the Wednesday – on the Friday at 8am the loss adjustors came to see us and by the next day we had a cheque in our hands for £10,000, the maximum amount payable.”

Daniel and his wife-to-be then set about finding a new venue and discovered Risley Hall in Derbyshire, which fortunately was available on the date they wanted.

On a Whim

With the payment from Event Insurance Services Daniel and Jenna were able to book the venue immediately and their dream day then became a reality thanks to superior facilities and amazing staff.

“Everybody we dealt with at Event Insurance Services was fantastic and within four days of finding out about the castle going into liquidation, our claim was settled and stress alleviated. If we hadn’t taken out insurance, we would have lost thousands of pounds and our wedding would not have taken place for a very long time,” explained Daniel.

“I took out wedding insurance on a whim and I paid £65 for the policy, which is inexpensive in the grand scheme of things, and I never expected to make a claim. It is the best money I have ever spent and I can’t stop singing the praises of Event Insurance Services!”
