Get in Touch

‘We’ve got loads of time before our event; we don’t need to sort out our insurance policy yet’. Time has a tendency of creeping up on you when you’re not looking.

Even at the end of the event season, the cogs are turning at full capacity in preparation for all those events taking place in 2015. As soon as their event in 2014 have finished, plans start being made for the following year.  The amount of organisation which goes into each and every event, especially those larger country shows and festivals can be overwhelming so it’s important to be prepared.

Being organised

Getting yourself organised in the lead up to any event is essential to avoid last minute panic, the earlier you start thinking about all areas of your event, the better. Creating a ‘To Do’ list may ensure nothing gets overlooked or forgotten about in the build up to your event.

Finding a suitable insurance policy

When it comes to your venue, liaising with the land owner, local council or venue itself will be essential to find out what level of Public Liability is required.

With insurance quotes, the more opportunity you have to shop around the more chance you have of finding the most comprehensive and financially beneficial policy for your event.

The last thing you want to be worrying about in the lead up to and during the event is not having an adequate insurance policy in place.

Employees/volunteers

An important question to ask yourself - will you be instructing anyone to carry out tasks at your event?

Whether you are employing a large work force or simply delegating jobs to a volunteer, it’s important to have a clear understanding of what insurance you require.

We offer Employers Liability as a separate policy to Public Liability; this can differ between companies who may offer it as part of the Public Liability policy alone. If in doubt, always ask.

  • Employers Liability provides cover for your legal liability to pay damages, claimants costs and expenses which arise as a result of anyone you employ at an event including temporary staff, volunteers or helpers, whether paid or unpaid.
  • Public Liability covers for your legal liability to pay damages, claimant’s costs and expenses which arise as a result of and in connection with your event.

With lots of 2015 show dates being announced already, now is the time to get the organisation process underway, don’t leave anything to chance in the build up to your event.
