Event Insurance Services are delighted to announce the launch of an enhanced wedding policy, to include worldwide cover for overseas weddings, as well as the inclusion of both Personal Accident cover and Legal Expenses.

Event Insurance Launch Revamped Wedding Policy

Event Insurance Services, the Hampshire based insurance intermediary, has today announced some significant enhancements to their wedding policy to reflect the changing needs of today’s wedding market.

With the introduction of same sex marriages in 2014, recent ONS statistics put the number of weddings a year in the UK at around 600,000. Moreover, around 1 in 4 weddings now take place overseas, making the overseas wedding market alone worth around £1.7bn a year1.

Daniel Rose, Managing Director of Event Insurance Services explains “It became clear that whilst our wedding policy was offering comprehensive cover levels, our customers’ needs were changing and we wanted to adapt our policy to cater for those requirements”

The entry level premium of £53 remains unchanged, but policy holders can now benefit from Personal Accident Cover of up to £20,000 each for the bride and groom, as well as up to £20,000 of Legal Expenses cover which – unusually – includes claims for discrimination if a wedding gets refused by a service provider.

More significantly, this policy has now been opened up to cover weddings across the globe. Whilst the exclusions vary slightly depending on where in the world the event takes place, it means that the Event Insurance Services will be able to capitalise on their position as the UK’s leading supplier of all types of event and wedding insurance
