Need last minute event insurance late on a Friday? No problem! Read our case study of how we helped the Council of Sikh Gurdwaras with Vaisakhi 2016.

Event Insurance Steps in At Eleventh Hour to Ensure Festival Success

Vaisakhi is one of most important dates in the Sikh calendar. Long celebrated as a harvest festival in Punjab, it gained an added dimension for Sikhs in 1699 when the tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh, chose Vaisakhi as the occasion to transform the Sikhs into a family of soldier saints, known as the Khalsa Panth

Vaisakhi celebrations take place across the UK, and indeed the world, but one of the largest celebrations takes place each year in Handsworth Park in Birmingham. However, this year the event nearly had to be cancelled at the last minute, when event organisers realised that their Public Liability and Employers Liability cover wasn’t in place.

Crownsway Insurance Brokers found that trying to sort out last minute cover on a Friday for a large scale event that was due to get underway in less than 48 hours was practically impossible. After several calls to insurers, they called Event Insurance Services, the UK’s leading provider of specialist event insurance:

“At the eleventh hour, our client found out that their insurance had not been organised. We contacted Event Insurance Services late on a Friday for an event that was already setting up. Michael and the team stayed late to make sure we got cover in place for our client, who was expecting 50,000 attendees that Sunday. They really went the extra mile, and we would happily recommend them to others”

The Vaisakhi Celebration 2016 took place on Sunday 24th April with people from diverse communities joining in the festivities at Handsworth Park, and sharing a meal with members of the Sikh community. And the event organisers could relax and enjoy the celebrations, knowing that should anything unforeseen happen, they had cover in place to protect their liability.
